ABOUT US
Our Story
Background
RBFD was founded in 2022 at the YMCA Maidstone, Kent and London. Originally holding five players: Destin, Martha, Ethan, David and Salim, RBFD built on this foundation, fostering a growing reputation in the community that drew in new players, volunteers and staff members to the RBFD family.
Embedding itself in the community, RBFD launched summer football camps in Maidstone, and affiliated its newly founded football club RBFC in 2023. In early 2024, it established its RB Advance services with its first ID Talent Showcase event in Dagenham, London, serving over 120 families and allowing young talented footballers the opportunity to be seen by the professional community.
Now evolving, RBFD currently develops over 100 players consistently, and 8 young coaches, and is becoming increasingly popular with parents and young players alike.
Provision
RBFD is proud to provide innovative football development provisions for 5-18 year-olds in London and Kent. Currently established at two home sites, RBFD provisions include development programmes for both players and coaches, ensuring that every member gets the opportunity to progress in the sport.
We welcome players of all abilities, experience levels and needs, and believe whole-heartedly that any child with the passion and desire to play football has the capacity to develop under the expert coaching that we provide.
Our founders and staff collectively offer extensive experience working in the field of football and education, allowing for the combination of knowledge and expertise on the game, and professional understanding and experience of how to create the best training environments and programmes that fully support the safety, engagement, enjoyment and enhanced differential development of all of our players.
Acknowledgments
RBFD have been honoured to receive the support and valuable skills of many contributors who have donated their time, energy, skills and creations to help us impact the communities we serve.
We give special thanks in 2024, to the following:
-
Andy, Andria and George Matheou, for their support of our work and community provisions through sponsorship.
-
Robert Howett, for redesigning and donating a new RBFD logo and for creating and donating the RBFC logo.
-
Fugati for the design of tailored RBFD and RBFC kits for our provisions.
We would also like to thank the web developers, designers and copywriters, logo resolution editors, fundraisers, donors and advertising contributors who wish to remain anonymous, but work tirelessly behind the scenes on a continued basis, to ensure that RB can continue its work.
